New Winter Term Programs

In cooperation with Sol Education Abroad, Education Abroad at UK is offering three new programs for the 2012-13 winter term.

With offerings in Mexico, Costa Rica & Argentina, students have the opportunity to earn four credit hours while building Spanish language competency.  Pre language training classes, homestay, meals, & weekend excursions are included.

For financial assistance, students may apply for the Education Abroad at UK scholarship Scholarship deadline is October 1 for winter programs.

Call for K Week International Volunteers


Join the K Week International Volunteer Team to help welcome new international students and scholars as they start their experience at the University of Kentucky. Be the encouraging and enthusiastic face that students will remember as they make their transition!

Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist in international student check-in sessions, campus and vicinity tours, social activities, and much more—while also having the freedom to commit to as few or as many activities as they choose. K Week International activities run from August 6-17, 2012 and are ideal for volunteers who live in Lexington, or who plan to arrive back to campus early!

Education Abroad Research Grant

Funded through UK's Office of International Affairs (OIA), the Education Abroad Outcomes Assessment Research Grant provides support for UK graduate or professional students whose research focuses on U.S. education abroad.

Facilitated through its Education Abroad unit, OIA will award 1-2 research grants annually up to $1,000 each. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree-granting UK graduate or professional program and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for all previous graduate work. Grant recipients are required to submit their finding findings in the form of a research paper to OIA within 12 months of receiving funding.
